When is ‘The Witcher’ Season 3 Releasing? Here is Everything You Need to Know About Henry Cavill’s Final Appearance As the Monster Hunter

Henry Cavill may have stepped down as the white wolf in the fan-favorite Netflix fantasy series, The Witcher, but we are yet to witness his last showdown. And as showrunner Lauren Hissrich has promised, it will be worth the while (Well, that is what fans can hope at least!). We are talking about his appearance in the anticipated The Witcher season 3. Set for a 2022 release, it got delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. But it seems like the season might grace our screens soon.

In the last season, we saw Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia, his child surprise, and Yennefer defeating Voleth Meir but seeing a strange vision of what we now know as the wild hunt. As per all the hints we have gathered so far from all hints showrunners have provided, this see-off is certainly going to be historic. He will either save Princess Cirilla from the entire world or the world from her uncontrollable powers. And from there on Liam Hemsworth will carry forward his legacy as the new witcher.

But none of this information gets us any closer to the release date of the season. We are yet to receive an official release date, unfortunately. But we do know that the new season would be here in the summer of 2023. This means it is safe to assume that The Witcher season 3, starring Henry Cavill for one last time, may release anytime from June to September. Given the crew wrapped filming last year, the early months of summer 2023 might harbor the good news.

Everything you need to know about The Witcher season 3

First things first, this will be the very last season in the saga to have Henry Cavill portraying the fan-favorite monster butcher. Secondly, along with an official date, we also do not have an official teaser trailer as of now. However, we do know one crucial thing, the name of the opening episode- ‘Shaerrawedd.’

According to Entertainment Weekly, it is the name of an elven palace from the Blood of Elves novel. “[Shaerrawedd] is when we get Geralt’s main thoughts on neutrality and why he wants to be neutral,” showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed. “It’s a theme you will continue seeing throughout the season.”
