Are you ready to get baked? Well get your gloves and tea cups, the newest season of The Great British Baking Show is in the oven. The year was 2010 since the first season came out, but due to popularity, they handed out a second. Thereon the show only progressed. Netflix will now serve us with, as the Britishers call it, Series 13.

Hopefully, in time for the Holiday season, the newest season will add up to the spirit. And like the previous season, this one too shall show us some unique skills and outrageously gorgeous cakes. The show was initially called The Great British Bake off and then changed to its current name since the US already had a trademark for “Bake Off”. So let’s see where this new season with its new name will be released.

Netflix announces the release date for The Great British Baking Show

In a tweet, Netflix announced the comeback of reality show The Great British Baking Show with the caption, “Time to go back to the tent! The Great British Baking Show returns with a new season on September 16 and fresh episodes are added every Friday.” So the show’s season 13 will be available to stream on Netflix on 16 September.

Thankfully, Judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will return this season with duo Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas as hosts. We will get to witness a fresh set of contestants with mixed backgrounds from age 18 to 60.

Season 12 of the series was won by Giuseppe Dell’Anno, who was also to release his first cookbook. The series centers around amateur bakers who are put to test with a variety of themed cakes every week. And unlike Gordon Ramsay’s war-like cooking shows, the judges here are calmer and the atmosphere is sweeter like the cakes.

However, the competitiveness will still be high as the bakers experiment with ingredients, aim for risky designs and fight time with creativity. As for the prize, it’s an engraved cake stand and a lot of popularity.

In addition, Netflix will also have the 5th part of the show’s Holiday edition. And it will be a two-long episode to accompany you during the winter preparations.
