The DC comic book Man of Steel has had several adaptations over the years. Matt Reeves was the Superman of the 80s, however, it was Henry Cavill that became the Gen Z and millennials Superman. So when DC’s new boss, James Gunn, kicked him out, fans were livid. As a fan of the original character, it was a blow to the actor as well as his fans. Although the Brit is no longer associated with a man in red and blue, there was a time when Cavill was the happiest to be a part of the project.

Man of Steel was still in production in 2011 and it would take two more years for the film to release in the theaters. It was a very long process, however; it didn’t burn out Henry Cavill. In fact, he enjoyed the experience. When Collider caught up with him during the filming of the film, he expressed his delight, “It’s a really long shoot. It’s fantastic. You get fully immersed in the world. It’s a wonderful experience.”

The shoot took place in various places and over a long period. There were parts that took place in Chicago. For Cavill, that felt like a whole different movie, but he was excited about the outcome. Donning the suit of the Kryptonite man was one of his dreams.

When he landed the role, he was on cloud nine. To prepare for the role, instead of watching the previous adaptations, he wholly devoted himself to comic books. Although he loved every aspect of the process, there was just one thing wasn’t a very big fan of.

Henry Cavill was not a very big fan of the latex suits

In order to play the much-coveted role, he had to compromise in one aspect – the costumes. The 39-year-old was not very enthusiastic about the suit, mainly because it was very hard to get in and out of the skin-tight costumes.
