As soon as the season 4 scripting is done, writing for season 5 will begin.

The original blueprint called for the back-to-back production of Season 4 and Season 5. The strikes may have jolted the schedule, but it did not jolt the plan to film these two seasons consecutively. Consequently, while the cameras were initially set to roll in September 2023 for Season 4, the new strategy was to hold off until the first half of 2024.

Despite initial plans for seven seasons, Cavill’s abrupt exit after three seasons, combined with strikes and a 30 percent viewership drop, caused disruption. Fans might have to wait until 2025 to see Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer grace their screens once more.
