On the 9th of May in 2011, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger announced they were separating. The couple cited it as a mutual decision, and on the 19th of May, news broke out that Arnold Schwarzenegger had fathered a kid with a staff who worked with around twenty years.

Instead of saying that it was a news outlet spewing gossip, as fans expected, the politician confessed. “After leaving the governor’s office, I told my wife about the event, which occurred over a decade ago,” Arnold Schwarzenegger told Los Angeles Times.

Later on, it was revealed that the pregnant housemaid was working in their home when Shriver was pregnant with her fourth child.

Following the confession, Patrick Schwarzenegger, eldest son, tweeted about how much he loves his family. And Maria Shriver, herself, released a written statement in the days following the confession. “I ask for compassion, respect, and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment,” wrote Shriver.
