The entry of the American mannequin Meghan Markle into Britain’s ancient royal family has gone bizarrely wrong. Ever since the military Prince and the former Suits star tied the knot, things have gone massively south for the Sussexes and the royal family as a whole. The now estranged family found itself at the receiving end of endless trenchant controversies. Although they were not able to survive through it together, they did receive immense support from the royal fandom. Speaking of the Duchess alone, her American friends have always had her back. 

Back in the day, when the Duchess of Sussex was freshly taking the hits for being the odd one out, her best friends decided to shield their pal with everything they could. In 2019, following the grand Sussex marriage, a group of Markle’s friends affirmed to People, “We want to speak the truth.” 

Realizing that a statement from the Palace is gradually becoming a distant dream, five eminent women from Meghan Markle’s innermost circle spoke up on behalf of the Duchess. Long before Prince Harry took a stand and denounced his family for having a peaceful life with his wife, her friends spoke first in her defense. As the outlet stated in its exclusive issue, her friends significantly did, “stand up against the global bullying” that they witnessed around their friends.

What did her friends say in defense of Meghan Markle? 

A longtime friend who chose to be anonymous affirmed, “we want to speak the truth about our friend”. Meanwhile, her former co-star from the famous paralegal drama series said, “Meg has silently sat back and endured the lies and untruths.” While the British media was taking a toll on the then-newly wed couple, they were expecting their first child later that spring. 

Expressing concerns over the same, the unnamed co-star stated, “we worry about what this is doing to her and the baby.” Considering the fact that the Duchess was heavily pregnant with Prince Archie, the best friend added that the level of ongoing chaos could “put anyone under emotional trauma.” 

Nonetheless, Markle has continued undaunted with everything she does. As of now, the Duchess has irked a major victory in her name as she won the US Defamation Court case against her half-sister, Samantha Markle. Adding to it, she also won the Best Host for a mind-provoking podcast of the year at Gracie Awards for Archetypes.
