And it cannot be better explained than the latest royal ensemble worn by the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, on the occasion of St Patrick’s Day. The 41-year-old became the focus of attention on the special event as she took up her new role after her husband, Prince William of Wales. However, what managed to charm the onlookers was the symbolic teal attire that she donned in a tribute to the Irish guards.
As reported by People Magazine, the Princess of Wales, in her latest appearance as the new Honorary Colonel, perfectly matched the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards. And the color choice spoke of Kate Middleton’s thoughtful dedication to her role as the next Queen-in-making to the throne.
Contrary to her usual preference for bluish-green outfits, Middleton was seen in hues of teal at the event. For the occasion, Kate Middleton sported a teal Catherine Walker and Co coat dress. She accessorized the same with matching plums of a strikingly darker shade which, too, held a proper significance for the occasion.
It is no secret that blue is a color of the royals. Back in February, the entire royal family opted for shades of blue for the Queen’s platinum Jubilee. It is a nod to the symbolic color of Ireland. Meanwhile, her plums with the darker bluer version were selected for yet another reason. The color of her heels is reportedly the color of the mantle and sash of the Order of St. Patrick.

In fact, many royal experts and behavioral color psychologists have earlier shared their two cents on the members of the royal family sporting colors of blue. The Little Book of Color Author once spoke to My London and gave us another prime reason behind the choice of color of the UK Sovereigns.
It is for the fact that all of them are strong-headed to display a strong sense of unity and togetherness. “They are coming together as a family, representing themselves as a cohesive unit,” explained the psychologist to the tabloid.
