What Was King Charles III’s Nickname for Meghan Markle?
Meghan Markle and King Charles III’s relationship has been nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. The two are said to be not on good terms since Prince Harry and Meghan’s departure from the United Kingdom. Recently, the Duchess of Sussex tried to make amends while she was in the country for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
Meghan Markle asked for a one-on-one meeting with her father-in-law. However, His Majesty did not show much interest and the Sussex couple returned home. In her book The New Royals, Katie Nicholl gave insights into the relationship between Meghan and Charles in the beginning.

King’s prediction for Meghan Markle
The royal expert revealed that His Majesty was initially impressed with Meghan’s toughness and resilience. He was of the opinion that the former American actress would have not much problem handling the media and public as a working royal. Since Charles predicted that his daughter-in-law would be able to have her own individual identity, he gave her a nickname.
“Charles reportedly nicknamed his future daughter-in-law ‘Tungsten’ because of her toughness and resilience,” Katie Nicholl has mentioned in her book as quoted by ET.
King Charles III was not wrong about Meghan Markle. The actress carried herself beautifully and owned the stage right from her first appearance alongside Prince Harry. The Suits alum attended the Royal Foundation Forum in February 2018 for the first time alongside Kate Middleton and Prince William.
The event saw the Duchess giving complex to the Prince and Princess of Wales as she stole all the limelight. Nicholl also mentioned how William and Kate realized during the event that they had to up their game to keep up with the new couple.

Meanwhile, the relationship between the House of Windsor and the Sussexes has strained more following the release of the first royal portrait by King Charles III. A few days back, the new monarch unveiled a portrait that featured him, Camilla, his elder son, and daughter-in-law.

While it was a beautiful picture, the absence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle caused a controversy. It is believed that with the picture, Charles has given the message of the future of the royal family.
