If there is one thing that we can agree upon, it is that it is nothing but fun to watch David Letterman doing interviews. And for anyone who missed the fun, intriguing and knowledgeable talks of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, there is a piece of good news for you. David Letterman is back on Netflix with yet another talk show, following the immense success of the previous one.

While the majority of fame that Letterman today enjoys originates from his standup comedy days. We see a lot of celebrities make jokes about him whenever they talk to him as a host. And that was something that happened on the very first episode of That’s My Time with David Letterman as comedian Sam Morril appeared on the show.

From Barack Obama to Sam Morril, what 5 years did to David Letterman

In a recently released clip from the episode, we see David Letterman and Sam Morril about a couple of things. We see Letterman talk to him about how he performed on random strangers’ roofs during the pandemic. Morril even talked about how people would ask him to “shut the f**k up” from their windows in New York.

David also talked about how the dreams and goals of budding standup comedians have changes over the years. He himself revealed about the time he started his journey in Los Angeles. He said the primary goal at that time was to get on a talk show or a situation comedy, which is not the case with standup comics now.

Continuing on the same thought, David asked Morril, where he sees himself in the next five years. To which Sam Morril replied with, “this is it I am talking to David Letterman right now.” However, it was a funny flip waiting for David at the end of the sentence, as Morril then asked him about, where he sees himself in the next five years. He joked about how Letterman went from Barack Obama to Sam Morril in 5 years, suggesting he might be talking to some homeless person next.

David soon showed his funny side when he said, “five years from now, if I am talking to anybody, that would be a miracle.
