Remember Kristien Bell, aka Elenor Shellstrop, from NBC’s hit comedy series The Good Place? The actress did exceptionally well in the show and will be known for playing the role of Elenor. In that show, because of a mix-up, a dead saleswoman, Eleanor, who led a morally tainted life, mistakenly ends up in a paradisiacal afterlife. There, she desperately attempts to cover her previous sins so that she can stay there. Exactly a year ago, this Netflix star’s film was released called Queenpins. It is, without a doubt, a classic among comedies. The film is based on real events and has an outstanding cast.

Story of and behind Queenpins

Based on the true story of a coupon fraud pulled out by three ladies from Arizona named Robin Ramirez, Marilyn Johnson, and Amiko “Amy” Fountain. Ramirez, who was 40 when she was arrested, was thought to be the group’s leader. You can read the full story here.

The plot follows the growth of a multi-million dollar coupon fraud that stumped law enforcement for years. Connie(Kristien Bell) is a suburban housewife who feels her efforts have gone unrecognized. No one in her family pays her any attention, and society, as a whole, ignores her. Hence, Connie decides to join her closest friend JoJo’s (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) shady coupon club. Together, the two closest buddies defraud dozens of companies out of millions of dollars.

But not until their grand con is too large to remain covert. Law enforcement is actively pursuing this fraudulent coupon club and is prepared to prosecute both of these ladies if necessary. The scam got so huge that a postal inspector and a loss prevention officer had to get on the case.

Apart from Kristen and Kirby, the cast of the film consists of Vince Vaughn, Paul Walter Hauser, and Bebe Rexha. The film was written and directed by Gita Pullapilly and Aron Gaudet.
