What is the Mexican Film ‘BARDO’ Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu Coming to Netflix All About?
Netflix has announced that it will officially be home to a series of mind-blowing movies and titles this year. By the end of 2022, the streaming giant will have a hoard of such movies by world-renowned directors and filmmakers. Not only for the American audience, but Netflix will also have movies to cater to the needs of people all over the world including viewers from Japan, France, and Mexico. Along with a highly anticipated french movie, Netflix will welcome a Mexican film, Bardo, directed by the greatest director of all times, Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu.
Little do we know about the plot other than it’s a fable about the social and political modernity of Mexico. Regardless, we anticipate it to be one of the best movies of the year, given the director who’s directing it. Apart from this, let us tell you what else you can expect from the movie.

What is the Bardo movie all about?
Oscar-Winner Iñárritu’s newest film, his first since 2015’s Revenant, is heading to Netflix. Bardo, The False Chronicle of a Handful Truths was written by Iñárritu and Nicola. The two legends previously collaborated on the Oscar-winning script for Birdman. The movie is a nostalgic comedy that portrays the story of a renowned Mexican Journalist and documentary filmmaker who returns home and works through an existential crisis.

Life takes a hard toll on him as he seemingly struggles with his identity crisis and relationships and finds it difficult to adjust to recent developments in the world. Long story short, like most of us, our protagonist hunts down questions from his past to build up his broken present.

Daniel Giménez Cacho and Griselda Siciliani play leading characters in the movie. The movie is currently in the last stages of production in Mexico and is expected to wrap this fall. Following this, it’ll get a theatrical release ahead of its debut on the streamer. “Alejandro is one of the greatest modern filmmakers and one of the leading visionaries in our industry. ‘Bardo’ is a cinematic experience that has inspired us to create a release strategy designed for the film to penetrate culture in the biggest and widest way,” Netflix Head of Global Film Scott Stuber said.
