Undeniably, Henry Cavill as Superman is one of the most popular superheroes in the DC Extended University. Since the Man of Steel first made its way to our screens in 2013, the actor’s name became synonymous with the character of Superman. Over the years, the British actor starred as many iconic characters such as the Geralt of Rivia and Sherlock Holmes. However, the list of his iconic roles is incomplete without Man of Steel. Even though Cavill is back in DC Extended Universe after 5 years, do you know that the studio did not want him back?
Dwayne Johnson made his much awaited superhero debut in DC’s latest movie, Black Adam. While Johnson making his DC debut is exciting, fans were more eager to see Cavill don on his Kryptonian suit again. As is known by all, The Rock played a major part in bringing Cavill back to the franchise. However, recently, the Hobbs and Shaw actor made some shocking revelations about his discussions with Warner bros.

Did Warner Bros. decide to move forward with DCEU without Henry Cavill as Superman?
20th October was one of biggest day for the DC fandom. The Man Of Steel returned to the DC Extended universe after nearly five years with a cameo scene in Dwayne Johnson starrer Black Adam. Recently, People’s champion Dwayne Johnson revealed that the studio did not want to bring back Cavill. However, the Jumanji star spoke that they were not going to take no for an answer.

Johnson spoke, “This has been years in the making regarding bringing Henry Cavill back and years of strategic conversations. We were not going to take no for an answer.” Johnson also added that he feels there is no there’s no viable logical way to build out the DC Universe without Cavill.
As of late, the future of Cavill in the DC remains uncertain. Rumors of the studio eyeing on various directors to direct Man of Steel 2 have been floating around. However, there is no confirmation. Recently, reports are that DC has already secured a backup plan if Cavill is unable to take up the Superman mantle.
