After working on a TV series for years, you can not help but create a familial bond with the cast. And a show like Peaky Blinders, which has themes like loyalty and family so close to its core, the actors in the show feel nothing but love for each other. Now that the hit crime drama has ended after seven years of a successful run. Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy on the show and is the heart and soul of Peaky Blinders, had a lot to say about his journey.
In an interview, the Irish Actor applauds the show and shares his experience working with the cast for years.
Cillian Murphy on Peaky Blinders ending at last
Cillian Murphy was born to play Tommy. There is absolutely no doubt about that. So now that we have only a movie left to see him in action, we all are pretty emotional about it. But it looks like as much as we love Cillian as Tommy, he also loved playing the character and the show.
In a recent interview while talking about the series coming to an end Cillian said that he is proud of the show and feels like “we have done some good work,”
He also thanks the fans of the show for investing almost ten years of their lives in the show. While talking about the reason he loved the show, he shares it was its unpredictability. He said, “you think might happen, something entirely different happens, and that to me is great great white.”
Lastly, he also recalls how BBC played an important role in making the show what it is today. He says that the whole success was “unexpected” as the success was gradual instead of overnight.
“Then people love gangsters don’t they, because gangsters live this cold outside life, our own moral code, and it is quite unique and beguiling and intriguing,” said the actor while talking about the show’s popularity.
It will be quite some time before we see Cillian as Tommy again in the Peaky Blinders movie. But we are excited to see what other projects the actor has in store including the Oppenheimer biopic by Nolan.
