Billie Eilish is a seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist who guarantees a hit every time she picks up the mic. But did you know that her brother, Finneas O’Connell has won the Grammy Award eight times? Unlike many singers who have hit songs and the name of the songwriter remains buried, Eilish’s brother is the Godfather of her music, and it’s no secret. From her debut song Ocean Eyes to the popular hit Bad Guy all were written by her brother.

In her famous acceptance speech at Variety‘s Hitmakers brunch, the singer said “He’s the only reason I’m anywhere in the whole world and he’s probably the only reason I’m alive.” The two made and recorded Eilish’s first-ever album in their bedroom from scratch. Furthermore, the album in question is her debut album When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? which ended up getting nominated for the Grammys.

The Bad Guy singer’s real name is Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell. She grew up with parents who were themselves very much into artistic expression. This helped not just Eilish but also their brother to realize their dream early on. Talking to Gayle King, the parents said that both the children have loved music since they were babies. The kids were even home-schooled so that they can be as creative as they wish to be.

Ever since the beginning, Finneas O’Connell was a genius at songwriting and Billie had the voice of an angel. The siblings expressed how they used to compare themselves to each other at first but learned to work together. “We both had opposite strengths,” said Eilish describing their different talents.

Additionally, the siblings are four years apart from one another and share a bond like no other. We don’t see a lot of sibling duos that win Grammy Awards together, do we?

What many do not know is that Eilish’s brother, Finneas O’Connell who is the youngest Producer of the Year, Non-Classical category winner at the Grammys is also an actor. The musical genius has tried his hand at acting in Life Inside Out, Modern Family, and Glee.
