"WE ARE SO BACK"- Fans Celebrate as 'BoJack Horseman’ Creator Returns to Netflix With a New Adult Animated Series

A flawless mix of quirky cartoon antics and the real-life struggles of everyday life- without making everything overly depressing and edgy- that is what Raphael Bob-Waksberg’s BoJack Horseman brings to the table. The show premiered on Netflix a decade ago and has since become one of the greatest animated TV series in history. However, the creator has largely stayed out of the spotlight since, with only a few writing credits under his name. But it looks like he is now ready to make a big return to Netflix in the forthcoming year.

Exactly 10 years to the day after BoJack Horseman first aired, Netflix has announced that Raphael Bob-Waksberg is working on a new adult animated comedy series. The show, called Long Story Short, tracks a family through time, and follows their shared history, inside jokes, and old wounds, according to the official logline. Bob-Waksberg will write, run and executive produce the show with Tornante Television, the same production house that was behind BoJack Horseman.

It is legitimately a thrill and an honor to be back doing what I love most,” Bob-Waksberg told Netflix about the upcoming 2025 animated series. However, this is not the first show he will be creating on Netflix post BoJack Horseman. Bob-Waksberg has also co-created the Amazon series Undone and worked on Tuca & Bertie, which originally debuted on Netflix before moving to Adult Swim for its final two seasons.

This time, however, fans are hoping for a show from Bob-Waksberg that lives up to the BoJack Horseman hype.

Fans cannot wait for Raphael Bob-Waksberg’s BoJack Horseman follow-up

BoJack Horseman ran for six seasons on Netflix. It easily earned a loyal fanbase and critical acclaim alongside some of the best adult cartoons on the OTT platform. To this day, fans praise Bob-Waksberg for his sharp wit and authenticity, and for knowing exactly when to sprinkle some lightheartedness to stop the show from being wholly depressing. With the same writer and production team behind Long Story Short, fans are hoping that the BoJack Horseman magic- or something close to it- is making a comeback. "WE ARE SO BACK," said a fan.

Fans are already comparing Long Story Short and BoJack Horseman, drawing parallels between the two shows.
