While both pieces having been released in 2022 in separate times of the year, and with both falling under the horror-slash-mystery genre, there could be a possibility of an ample amount of confusion that could ensue. But we could start with the fact that while The Watcher remains one of the most iconic TV-series also shared on Netflix, Watcher on the other hand is a lesser known movie available on platforms (aside from Netflix) such as Amazon Prime Video.
Being less out-there and known to the audience, the film Watcher holds its place as the directorial debut of Chloe Okuno, where she has adapted an original screenplay by Zack Ford. The cast of the film also marks its mellow beginnings with name such as Maika Monroe, Karl Glusman and Burn Gorman. The film is also a Grand Jury Prize nominee and recipient of positive critical acclaim, marking the possible over-the-years marination of the film into a classic hidden gem.
While Watcher the film serves us with a niche underrated piece, The Watcher lies on a completely opposite side of the spectrum.

The series involves a more dramatized and probably even softened version of what might have ensued in real life, with appropriate twists for engagement from baseless blaming and ghosts of the past in the spirit of relatives and their possessions. The Watchers has cemented itself as a Netflix must watch during the time of its run from October 2022, to present day.

The two pieces of visual culminations, in their own rights, represent a hardly-been-able to master genre, in the industry. While it is easy to run of ideas and surprises that would stimulate the human brain to think and turn the gears inside, the show and the movie maintain an engaging plot regardless of the blueprint of Hollywood horror that they follow, making sure to balance the generic nature of their plots with contrary and explorative characters and dynamics between them.
