Do you ever imagine what advice you will give if you meet your younger self? We all have something that we want to change from our childhood days. In The Adam Project, the titular character Adam is lucky enough to meet his younger self. After Red Notice and Free Guy on Netflix, Reynold is back with a sci-fi adventurous film, The Adam Project. The film comprises a star-studded cast, which includes Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and also Walker Scobell, who plays the part of younger Adam.

Recently, Netflix shared a 4-minute clip, where Reynold comes face-to-face with his young self. From the brief clip, we can see Reynolds and Scobell having a a great chemistry, as the latter realizes what’s happening. Let us break down the clip in this article.

Recently Netflix Film Club has shared an official clip from the movie on YouTube, which captioned as, “A time-traveling pilot (Ryan Reynolds) meets his younger self (Walker Scobell) in the past.”

The clip shows adult Adam in the house, and his behavior confusing young Adam. Both young and adult Adam, nailing each other’s characteristics, which include closing the fridge by kicking it, having the whole map of the house, knowing the dog’s name, wearing dad’s watch, and knowing breath counting. Young Adam declares, “You are me. Holy sh**.”

Reynolds and Scobell have such amazing chemistry that it is hard to tell that they are different people. The entirety of The Adam Project on Netflix, builds on the strength of their dynamic.

The Adam Project premise

The Adam Project follows Adam from 2050, who is now a time traveler, and whose plane got crashed in 2022, and he is seriously injured. He gets lost in the space-time continuum and needs his father to save himself. During his journey to the past, he will come across young Adam and share a lot of childhood heartaches.

In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Reynold says that this film will feel like The Goonies, E.T., and other hits of the 1980s. He also added, “I loved Netflix positioned The Adam Project like that. They love the movie the way we love the movie.”
