Netflix’s Fool Me Once is climbing the charts, and its key setting, the Burkett family home, has an explosive history as the actual Arley Hall in Cheshire, England. Interestingly, it also served as Tommy Shelby’s iconic manor in Peaky Blinders. Recently, Netflix UK & Ireland shared a picture on X, formerly Twitter, offering a side-by-side comparison of both houses. “You can’t fool me, that’s Tommy Shelby’s house! ” wrote the Netflix page.

They also shared a similar post on Instagram. The Netflix page captioned it saying, “They really thought they could fool us with Tommy Shelby’s house“. Michelle Keegan led the cast in the gripping crime thriller on Netflix, where she faced the unsettling prospect of her late husband Joe’s return. The show featuring Adeel Akhtar, Jade Anouka, and Joanna Lumley, is currently shining in the top spot in the UK.
Speaking to Creative England’s Filming in England website, Arley’s general manager Bridge Roberts shared the joy Arley Hall felt about landing a feature in the Netflix drama Fool Me Once. As soon as fans found out about the same property, they flooded the comments with interesting responses. This well-known filming venue has been speculated to be a backdrop for various other dramas, including Hollyoaks.
Tommy Shelby’s country home in the series, however, made the property a shining star in the real estate world.
Arley Hall owners’ take on Peaky Blinders’ filming at their mansion
It has been over a year since the sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders made a comeback on the small screens. Tommy Shelby’s departure from Birmingham brought him back to his mansion. There he lived with Lizzie, his son Charles, and daughter Ruby. James Wardhaugh, residing at the Grade II-listed West Gables for two decades, shared in 2019 that the property was an ideal spot for a dedicated superfan to catch sneak peeks of the series, as per Daily Mail.

He also shared that they shot parts of the series right outside his living room window. Before the cameras rolled at Arley Hall, the crew of Peaky Blinders introduced personalized portraits, furnishings inspired by the 1920s, and a dark green palette to align with Tommy Shelby’s aesthetic. However, the house has been reverted to its original state, providing the ideal setting for Netflix’s Fool Me Once show.
