Unlike earlier seasons, season 3, which is set to return in October, will have a total of 7 episodes. The extra-long seventh episode will serve as the final episode. However, the cast and crew will remain the same as all five characters are going to feature in the season finale. From Nicola Coughlan and Saoirse-Monica Jackson to Jamie-Lee O’Donnell and Dylan Llewellyn, the ensemble will come together for one last time in October.

Sadly, anxious “nervous wreck” Clare Devlin played by Coughlan will have a reduced role due to her prior commitment to Bridgerton. Netflix confirmed the release date on Twitter. The streamer also shared some images from the upcoming final season. Fans seem excited but equally sad as their favourite series will reach its end.

Creator of the show Lisa McGee also revealed that Derry Girls season 3 would be the last for the Netflix comedy. “It was always the plan to say goodbye after three [seasons],said McGee.
