Natasha Lyonne opening monologue at SNL
SNL opening monologues are a huge deal. Over there years, almost every big Hollywood celebrity has taken their turn in hosting the skit comedy shows. And now it was Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne’s turn.
Natasha Lyonne, the co-creator and actress of Russian Doll, presented her first edition of Saturday Night Live, talking about her Netflix series—which returned for its second season after Covid delays—and more.
She said that it was unbelievable for her to host the SNL. She goes on to say that for a New Yorker like her, it was a big deal. While talking about her Netflix Original, she even takes a dig at Netflix.
She says, “I have a show called Russian Doll. The second season just premiered on Netflix, and two things you really want to be associated with right now are Russia and Netflix.”
Lyonne went on to explain that she is “genuinely humbled” to be presenting NBC’s comedy show and that she has a “cosmic connection” to it. Natasha even said that she has many friends on the show. And that she has been a fan of the show since she was a teenager.
SNL 47 ending is going to be a sad moment for the fans. This year’s ending will mark the exit of many of the popular members, including Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon among others.
