TWO FACED? Prince Harry Reveals How Kate Middleton Accepted Making Meghan Markle Cry and Didn’t Publicly Do Something About It
There seems to be no end to the crying drama between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. Before the royal wedding in 2018, the Suits alum was bashed brutally as the reports of her making the future Queen Consort cry went viral on social media. However, in her explosive Oprah Winfrey interview two years back, Markle quashed the rumors. She revealed how the incident was completely manipulated by the media.

In his bombshell memoir, Prince Harry also spoke about the incident in detail. The Duke explained that Princess Charlotte’s baggy bridesmaid dress was the root cause of the feud. Because of the ill-fitting, Kate Middleton wanted all the six bridesmaids’ dresses to be remade just four days before the wedding. The whims of the Princess of Wales left Meghan Markle stressed, and she burst into tears. Meanwhile, the much-talked-about episode did not end there, as the former actress had a confrontation with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Meghan Markle flustered Kate Middleton with her question
The infamous crying incident took place in May 2018, but it took Kate Middleton over six months to acknowledge the negative stories floating in the media about Meghan Markle. As mentioned by Page Six, in his book, Prince Harry elaborated on the meeting he and his wife had with Prince William and the Princess of Wales in December 2018. During the summit, Middleton was quick to admit her mistake by saying, “I know, Meghan, that I was the one who made you cry.”

The apology was a big relief for both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. However, Markle was upset with the wrong reporting in the tabloids. The Duchess did not hold back while questioning Prince William and Kate Middleton about why their office was not taking a stand for her amidst all the negativity. The genuine query of the former actress left the future queen consort flustered. Meanwhile, then Duke of Cambridge tried to do some damage control by saying supportive words.
Speaking about the same in the book, Prince Harry mentioned how he was aware that the Palace would never take a stand. They would not put Middleton’s reputation at stake by highlighting her less-than-gracious behavior. “But I already knew the truth. No one at the Palace could phone the correspondent, because that would invite the inevitable retort: Well if the story’s wrong, what’s the real story?” the Duke of Sussex mentioned.
