What to expect from The Crown Season 5?
Although Netflix announced The Crown Season 5 during TUDUM, they are yet to unveil any further details, including a synopsis or trailer. However, it is not hard to guess that the upcoming season will showcase Queen Elizabeth II’s reign in the 90s. The last season was all 80s when Margaret Thatcher was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Season 4 ended with one of the most controversial subjects in royal history, the divorce of now King Charles III and Princess Diana.
It is no brainer that Season 5 will talk about Charles and Dians’ divorce in detail, followed by the death of the latter in 1997 that shook the entire country. Moreover, The Crown Season 5 can cover the failing marriage of Prince Andrew and Princess Anne. Fans will also see a glimpse of Diana’s explosive interview with BBC’s Martin Bashir.
The cast of the Netflix-original
To keep the reliability of the characters in terms of their age intact, Netflix is all set to introduce a new set of protagonists. It is learned that after Claire Foy and Olivia Colman, Harry Potter actor Imelda Staunton will play the lead role of Queen Elizabeth II. Jonathan Pryce will play Prince Philip while they have roped in Dominic West to play Charles.
Elizabeth Debicki will be portraying Princess Diana on the screen while there are some other notable actors as well, including the likes of Claudia Harrison, Olivia Williams, and Marcia Warren.
