Netflix loves to produce sequels and spin-offs of projects they feel have the potential to do well. But even Netflix outdid themselves with the To All the Boys trilogy. After establishing a successful trilogy of films with Lana Condor as Lara Jean, Netflix has now decided to give Lara’s younger sister Kitty her own show. Netflix announced a spin-off called Xo, Kitty.

But you have known this for quite a while now. What you must not be aware of is the new casting the series has made, and it is looking to be an incredible one!

Lara Jean’s younger sister Kitty met a boy called Dae in Korea, which is where we left off in Netflix’s To All The Boys: Always and Forever.

Dae was just there for a few seconds, assisting the Coveys with a fast shot. Despite the fact that Kitty and he kept in touch, the last time we saw him was in the trilogy and movies.

Netflix has now planned a Kitty spinoff for 2022. Instead of a film, XO, Kitty will be a series. Anna Cathcart reprises her role as Kitty Song Covey in this series. Kitty resolves to study abroad in South Korea in order to reconnect with Dae in the following series.

In the series, Choi Min Young will take over for actor Jeon Ho Young, who played Dae in the original film. Fans of Baek Yi Jin’s younger brother might know him from Twenty Five, Twenty One!

The series has already started filming

The group moved to Seoul in March, according to Anna Cathcart’s Instagram, and will be there for the next few months. It’s safe to state that filming has begun! Even writer Jenny Han joined the cast for supper.

The remainder of the cast is made up of newbies. Q, a queer extrovert, is played by Anthony Keyvan. Yuri, a new acquaintance of Kitty’s, is played by Gia Kim. Lee Sang Heon plays Min Ho, an attractive and confident ex-pat who has lived in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia.

There isn’t much else known about the show. Filming in South Korea began on March 28, 2022, and will conclude on June 7, 2022. So hopefully the show should get a release date of late 2022 or early 2023.

Meanwhile, let us know your thoughts about XO, Kitty in the comments below.
