Kanye West shook everyone up when he announced his presidency in 2020. The singer is famous for making wild statements, with are often taken as entertainment but as it turned out, his announcement was no joke. After supporting Trump in the 2016 elections, Ye was inspired to take the next step, aiming at the White House.
Now, celebrities have always appreciated the musical genius for his ability to be a success in whatever he does. But having him as a President was a thought that not many took seriously. In a podcast interview in 2020, Ye revealed how people reacted to his election run.

Ye is undoubtedly one of the out influential artists with a large fan following. But the unpredictable singer left everyone with a question mark with his presidency announcement. During a podcast interview with Joe Rogan, he opened up about people’s reactions and his response to them. Apparently, people were windblown about the idea. “They just really took it as a joke“. Ye explained how his own friends in the music industry reacted to the news. They gave him multiple reasons to explain why this was a bad idea.
Recalling his meeting with Oprah Winfrey, he remembered her telling him how he does not really want to do it. But his answer to the naysayers was the impossible success that he had achieved. He gave an example of his former billionaire status and how he achieved that. Although there were also those who suggested that he should run for governor’s position first.

Now, Ye certainly did not win the election. But his run was no less interesting and entertaining than most.
Ye is determined to run for the 2024 Presidency despite his 2020 loss
Ye’s election party was called Birthday Party since his win would be a celebration for all. He wanted his presidency theme to be based on Wakanda from the Black Panther. As per BBC, he managed to garner around 60,000 votes with the highest support from Tennessee. During one of his campaigns, he suddenly began crying on the topic of abortion as well. But the light of hope still burns within him as he continues to make occasional campaign rounds for the 2024 elections.
