The Tinder Swindler is now streaming on Netflix. The true-crime documentary, gives you a piece of cautionary advice before you look for a potential partner on an online dating site. In the film, we come across the stories of three women who were conned by the same man using different names. So, before you go to another date on Tinder or any other site, just make sure it’s not Simon Leviev. Or Shimon Yehuda Hayut. Or David Sharon.

The Netflix documentary is directed by Felicity Morris, who has produced another popular docuseries on Netflix, Don’t F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer. The plot of The Tinder Swindler develops around a con man posing as an Israeli wealthy businessman who cons and seduces young women. The con man tricks young women by buying them expensive gifts and flying them on his private jet. But as soon as those women thought they found the man of their dreams, he tricks them into giving him a large amount of money.

We all have very high hopes for our potential partner, and Cecilie is on the outlook for the man of her dreams. On Tinder, she matches with a young billionaire man, Simon. What seemed like a dream come true soon turned into a nightmare, breaking Cecilie’s heart. He even takes thousands of dollars from her, and Cecilie’s fairytale ends, and a revenge crime thriller begins.

Turns out she wasn’t the only one whose heart he broke and money he stole. So, she teams up with other victims of Simon.

Netflix’s documentary has received mostly positive reviews from critics. IMDb has rated the film as 7.4/10, and we can expect the rating will go higher, as the documentary aired just a few days ago.
