The Witcher fans have always kept an eye on the tiniest details of the show, be it characters or their outfits. Just like that, Netflix Geeked shared a video of the fan who decoded the formation of Geralt’s armor. TikTok creator Charlotte Bowyer, who is a student of medieval arts, revealed whether this medieval-inspired costume of the character is a real thing or not.
Since the show is pure fantasy, this question might have come to the audience’s minds if such armors are mere imagination. So giving an answer to that, this young woman stated that Cavill’s studded armor is a mix of medieval and modern, known as brigandine. Then she dwelled on the studs that were a famous part of the suits during Tudor eras that used to hold metal plates to protect the warriors.
The leather used in this costume of the 40-year-old is more flexible and comfortable. Thus, as per her analysis, this armor is the perfect combination of history and fiction. Well, it has to be, considering the actor himself had a hand in redesigning the costume into something that allows him to do action shots.

The Witcher Season 3 saw a massive change in the outlook of the iconic monster slayer. From a battle-ready intricate costume to a mass of leather and studs, he looked quite different. In his interview with Tudum, the former superman revealed that he helped Lucinda Wright design it and they worked hard to create it in a short time.
Henry Cavill said that Geralt had to change his armor but did not get the chance to do it. So when he arrived at his home, Kaer Morhen, in season 2, he found this costume from the dungeons that was from a different era but still comfy.
