Once in a streaming era, shows like Ozark are made. However, streaming phenomena like these become the template for viewers on the road ahead. Although 3 years have passed since the curtain call of the fan-favorite Netflix series, the audience is still on the hunt for shows similar to Ozark. However, spectators are not the only ones caught in the trip down the streaming lane; so is Jason Bateman, thanks to assistant director Peter Thorell.
Despite forming a dream team of the streaming past, Bateman recently extolled Thorell, reflecting on their cherished experiences.

On a recent episode of the Smartless podcast with co-hosts Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, Jason Bateman celebrated the Ozark assistant director, Peter Thorell. An assistant director is “basically the guy who keeps everything on track and running for everybody” on the show. Speaking of Thorell, one of the hosts recalled Thorell as a recommendation from Bateman. The Ozark star discussed how they have worked together on Family Fang.
In fact, they worked on Ozark for 3-4 seasons. “I get Pete on everything I direct if he’s available,” Bateman added. However, he also poked fun at how Thorell has gone “fancy,” working with high-profile filmmakers of Hollywood that make him look like a “little punk.” While Arnett thought he was Thorell’s favorite, Bateman continued, saying, “I literally take work so I could work with Pete.”
While the co-hosts could not stop with the glowing reviews of Peter Thorell, one of the co-hosts also divulged a rather funny anecdote about the AD.

When Netflix drew the endline for Ozark starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, it left fans itching for a starry reunion. Though one might be in the works, thanks to the streaming mogul pitching in, the recent Smartless episode had Jason Bateman and his co-hosts delving into the flashbacks of another important person involved with Ozark, Peter Thorell. The host recalled that it was after midnight, and everyone on the set was exhausted, and the AD broke down how the scene goes.

Hayes could not help but barge in with a joke, asking Thorell, “Can you keep your process inside? Because we can all hear it, and we have enough to think about.” Although the latter chuckled and laughed for a minute, Arnett remembered Thorell hesitating for some time as if he took Hayes seriously. However, fortunately, the moment ended up being just another funny recollection instead of turning into something tense, making their trip down the memory lane a highlight for the fans worldwide.
