Rooted in Andrzej Sapkowski’s A Little Sacrifice, Netflix’s upcoming anime will bring the spotlight on a bard: Essi Daven. Essi’s story was part of the collection of six short stories in the novel Sword of Destiny. However, before Sword of Destiny, it would help to begin with the two prequels that came before. Firstly, The Last Wish, which centered on the Geralt of Rivia, makes for the perfect gateway into the Witcher saga.
It lays the foundation for the characters viewers will encounter in the anime. Second in line is the Season of Storms, which stands as the eighth book within the Witcher series that will add to the immersive journey for enthusiasts. After these two, Sword of Destiny, which contains A Little Sacrifice amongst others will paint the plot that The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep will follow.
For those who do not mind spoilers, read on to know the story that the anime will be based on.
