3 Reasons ‘The Witcher’ Season 4 Will Not Be the Same Without Henry Cavill
“Just how fast the night changes!” Just when fans started to get excited about the upcoming journey of Geralt of Rivia, Henry Cavill dropped a piece of huge news about his departure from the iconic show. The Witcher has given the British actor the kind of identity that has lifted him way above. However, in season 4 of the show, it might be difficult for the showmakers to recreate these 3 iconic moments from the books.
It would be extremely hard for the fandom to not see their favorite Geralt from The Witcher season 4. Additionally, Liam Hemsworth has big shoes to fill in. Therefore, as hard as it is going to be for him, the showrunners will also face trouble recreating some epic moments from the original books. The 40-year-old actor has set the bar so high, these 3 epic moments will be incomplete without Cavill.

Based on the books and the video games, there are some iconic moments the show needs to recreate. However, with the departure of the English actor, the showmakers might face challenges in recreating those scenes. Which scenes are we talking about?
The final fight with Vilgefortz
Geralt and his friends found Vilgefortz in a place called The Tower of the Swallow. They engaged in a fierce battle to secure the freedom of Yennefer and Ciri. Here, Geralt and Vilgefortz engaged in combat for the second time, following their initial confrontation on Thanned where Vilgefortz caused severe damage to Geralt’s leg. However, this time Geralt had a magical amulet given by Fringilla Vigo, which helped him fight against Vilgefortz.
Perhaps this fight can be amazing with Liam Hemsworth playing the strong character. However, it might feel different to the viewers because Cavill fought the first battle. Due to the change in actors between fights, the second round with Hemsworth may feel more unsettling than therapeutic.
Geralt and Ciri’s memorable fight in Vilgefortz’s Castle
Definitely, there are amazing and unforgettable moments between Geralt and Ciri from the beginning of the show. However, this specific fight was one of the best moments as they fought their way down the stairs following the defeat of Bonhart and Vilgefortz. When Emperor Emhyr came with an army, Geralt and Ciri would die fighting against him rather than kneeling. With the broken spirit, the iconic duo fought ruthlessly.
The emotional and magnificent nature of this scene was remarkably intense. Despite being tired of ruthlessly killing around, they did not have any other choice than to go on. This specific moment highlighted Geralt’s emotional connection with Ciri. Therefore, Cavill’s portrayal as Geralt would have been more significant since he initially encountered the young Ciri and established a relationship with her.

The final memorable moment of the series will not be as magnificent without the Superman actor’s presence. Following the conclusion of the primary plot, Geralt embarks on a journey to Lyria, where he intends to reunite with his close Dwarven acquaintances. Geralt is compelled to resume his sword-wielding duties because of a brutal bout of violence known as a pogrom, where non-human beings are being ruthlessly killed by humans. A peasant stabs Geralt with a pitchfork, following the end of the story by Yennefer and Geralt sailing into the mist. A Unicorn saves Geral’s life and makes them leave.
The last scene of The Witcher series is exceptionally moving and effectively showcases the diverse relationships Geralt established throughout his lifetime – relationships that extend all the way back to season 1 of the show, thereby creating a strong connection to Henry Cavill’s portrayal.
