Jennifer Lawrence’s 2023 rom-com is releasing on Netflix

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), it was announced that a rom-com, No Hard Feelings, starring Jennifer Lawrence, who recently returned to her sci-fi roots, is set to make its way to Netflix. The film was released back in June of this year and has been available to stream on Amazon Prime. The rom-com is set to release on 23 September on Netflix. Meanwhile, the actress is not the only big name on the cast sheet.

The film features the likes of Matthew Broderick, Natalie Morales, and even the comedian Hasan Minhaj. It focuses on the story of Maddie, Lawrence’s character, who is about to lose the house she grew up in. And under those difficult circumstances, she goes on to make some extremely questionable choices throughout the film. While the movie is fictional, it was based on a very real Craigslist ad.

While the film may be filled with a star-studded cast, it was actually the storyline and the script that drew Jennifer Lawrence out of the two-year acting hiatus. However, this is not the actress’ first return to screen after the break.

Jennifer Lawrence’s film projects since hiatus

After the backlash that Jennifer Lawrence received after the film American Hustle and Joy, the Silver Linings Playbook star decided to step back from the world of all the glitz and glamour for a while. Following a two-year break, Lawrence made her way back to the screen with three new projects in 2021, 2022, and again in 2023.

With Don’t Look Up being her first since her comeback in 2021, the actress once again received praise for her role. However, the film was not very well received by its audiences. Her next project was the drama Causeway, which came out in 2022. The film left viewers torn about whether they loved or hated the film.

No Hard Feelings is the actress’ third project since she has come back, and the film has performed better than the last two. That might also be because the character was written while they pictured Jennifer Lawrence as the actress.
