Henry Cavill may be one of the most important superheroes in the DC Extended Universe. He is also a strong pillar in an industry that feeds on the opinion of other people, but there have been plenty of times the actor himself needed some saving. While the first superhero that comes to mind when speaking of Henry Cavill is a broad-shouldered, blue-eyed Superman, the actor has someone else in mind.

Cavill’s superhero of choice is not a broad-shouldered blue-eyed man with a red cape but actually a black-fur American Akita by the name of Karl El. The two boys are the cutest best friends. And the fact that they were inseparable even during The Witcher Season 2 promotions is proof of this fact. Much like many of us, the superstar also turns to his dog for mental support. And living up to his name, his pooch never lets him down.

The actor has had his dog at all the crucial moments of his career. The dog has seen Cavill grow into a movie star. And even when the actor was having a tough time in his career, Karl was right by his side. From taking his dog along with him when he was promoting League of Justice to saying “my dog has been my savior” in his interview with Lucy Jones, fans have seen his pooch grow along with him.

Therefore, it does not come as a shock when Cavill said “He really is my best friend“.

The actor further added, “We go everywhere together. He’s 8 now and he has saved my emotional, and psychological bacon plenty of times” while promoting The Witcher Season 2. If you didn’t notice, Cavill’s dog has been named after the great Superman.

And we can all imagine Karl El being the first one to find out about Cavill’s DC return. Cavill has raised his dog ever since he was just ten weeks old. And now, at 9 years old, Karl is as buffed up as his owner. So it is safe to say that Karl is Cavill’s favorite child with his giant PC coming a close second.
