This ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Update Has Fans Crying in the Corner
Fans of Stranger Things have emptied their pot of bad news, at least more than halfway, following the end of the WGA strikes in September. Even as the Duffer Brothers and most of the cast joined the strikes, the Netflix series tried its best to keep the fans intrigued as it dropped one exciting update after another. However, none of the updates, even that of Linda Hamilton joining the cast for the finale, could compare to the latest announcement.
The Netflix series wrapped up the fourth season of Stranger Things at a very high point, both in terms of a cliffhanger thanks to Sadie Sink’s character and viewership ratings. However, with its latest update, the series has confirmed that Sadie Sink will be reprising the role of Max for the finale and fan reactions have truly mirrored those of falsely convicted prisoners being set free.
Stranger Things has announced that Max will, in fact, be returning for Season 5. The reason why Max’s comeback has generated such surreal reactions from fans is that she was lying in a hospital bed in the finale of the last season as Millie Bobby Brown‘s Eleven embodied every fan’s emotions as she sobbed inconsolably at her bedside.

Tears of joy, however, are not the only reactions that this announcement has generated owing to Stranger Things’ track record in such matters.
Stranger Things Season 5 update has extracted diverse opinions from fans
One of the major generators behind the anticipation for Stranger Things Season 5 is Sadie Sink’s character and her inconclusive state towards the end of Season 4. Sink’s character, Max, was among the frontrunners in the last season and the cost of it was facing two brutal attacks by Vecna. While she was strong-willed enough to brave through the first one, the second attack, despite the help of Eleven, proved to be lethal for her. Or so fans thought.
The news of Max’s return has earned many gasps of variations of “OMG” from fans of Stranger Things. While they are naturally excited about her return, most of the fans are refusing to believe in the news. Especially as the show has been announcing the return of many presumed dead characters.

The Stranger Things fandom thinks that the creators are only telling the half-truth. “In one shape or another,” wrote one fan, alluding to the popular fan theory that Max will be an antagonist in the final season or will be a part of Vecna’s army. Some fans even believe that Max is likely to be blind in the finale, just like Victor Creel.
