This Jennifer Aniston Led Flick Dominates Netflix Top 10 Chart This Week Leaving ‘Rebel Moon’ Far Behind
In the 90s, Jennifer Aniston became the undisputed queen of Hollywood after being catapulted to eternal stardom with her remarkable portrayal of Rachel in Friends. After achieving her sitcom glory, she brought the same charisma to the silver screen through a spectrum of roles, predominantly in rom-coms. Most of her illustrious flicks and series are available on Netflix’s streaming platforms. While the OTT giant has launched a sleuth of Netflix original flicks this year, one among her many works has reigned supreme.
Not only did it place at the top, but it also left behind the much-hyped Rebel Moon among other films.

Based on Netflix’s report of viewing numbers for the week of December 18-25, What’s on Netflix presented the findings to its X (previously Twitter) page. According to the report, Murder Mystery 2 starring Aniston and Adam Sandler had garnered 42.9 million views, placing it at the top of the list. Meanwhile, Rebel Moon is currently falling behind in the tenth place with a measly 23.9 million views to its name.
It looks like the Zack Snyder-directed flick which initially made a lot of buzz by dethroning Bradley Cooper’s Maestro on Netflix’s charts has not fared well over time. This is also evident through the massively underwhelming 24% approval rating it received on Rotten Tomatoes. On the other hand, Aniston and Sandler’s second installment of the timeless Murder Mystery comedy showed no signs of stopping.
Not to forget how another film in the top 5 carried Aniston’s Friends character as its central theme.

A character so iconic that her haircut alone became a cultural phenomenon, Aniston’s Friends character, Rachel, is a sitcom legend; especially due to her nail-biting romance saga with David Schwimmer’s Ross. This fact was also reflected in the dystopian thriller Leave the World Behind, which stood fourth on Netflix’s chart. In it, Julia Roberts’ character’s daughter was solely focused on the fate of Rachel and Ross as the world ended.
Earlier this month, the flick’s director also explained why he chose to bring Friends into the mix. Spoiler ahead! Not only did the flick highlight Friends’ Ross-and-Rachel storyline as the perfect comfort watch, but also ended with a somewhat happy ending as the young girl finally managed to get her hands on the sitcom’s finale. This just goes to show the immense impact Aniston’s character has had on generations of audiences.
