Ever since its premiere on the 8th of December, last year, the Netflix record-breaking bombshell docuseries Harry & Meghan has been the center of trenchant controversies. All of its massive revelations had stirred the media with Royal Experts and commentators calling out the filmmakers from all sides. Nonetheless, the accusations have now taken a devastating turn as the Director of the explosive docuseries has stepped up in public to make her stance.
"People are happy to read everything about Harry and Meghan when it's everyone else writing about them… People are not forced to watch a documentary. It's not required. It's your choice what you binge and what you don't." – Liz Garbus#HarryandMeghanNetflix #Spare pic.twitter.com/eilWFwlcVj

For the record, rampant speculations alleged that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not pay heed to the opinions of the Royal Family on the six-part-docuseries. The episodes’ starting scenes made it extremely clear that the UK Sovereigns have denied commenting on the series. Nonetheless, rumors had it that it was the Sussexes who did not bother to reach out to Buckingham to get things straight.
Harry & Meghan Director rejects Palace’s claims of not contacting them
Despite the controversies, some recent developments have proved otherwise against the Royal Family. The Director of Harry & Meghan broke it to Vanity Fair that she did approach the series with more perspectives than just two royals. Liz Garbus claims that all of the rumors that have been flying in the air widening the gap between the families are all “to discredit us.” “By discrediting us they can discredit the show,” Garbus argued insisting that the team did reach out to the Royal Family for more details.
"They did that to discredit us." #HarryAndMeghan director Liz Garbus dismissed Buckingham Palace's claims that the Netflix production didn’t reach out for comment on the docuseries: https://t.co/f5EngKpze3 pic.twitter.com/YcZQ6ejFEx

The director further expressed that she wished to cover even a broader aspects of the “historical issues”. Major angles that she thought of touching upon were racism, colonialism, and white supremacy. However, due to a lack of cooperation, she could not execute her plans. Speaking of cooperation, she also revealed to the outlet that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were refreshingly open to sharing some of their experiences.
Glad to see Liz Garbus’s comments calling out the palace’s attempt to discredit #HarryAndMeghanNetflix bring renewed focus to this original reporting but attempts to gloss over the fact that King Charles & Prince William’s press offices lied are unhelpful. https://t.co/wK2pr61pa5

They were “willing to journey down some of the paths” that the director believes were not discovered before. Thus their statements and experiences became the major constituent of the docuseries. Garbus admits that the Sussexes have been her pivotal point. Nonetheless, she wanted to connect some more dots diving even deeper into Imperial history.

February 7, 2023 at 8:30 amWho cares about Harry and his wife , it will be ( prince) Andrew and his cheating nephew William who will bring down the Royal family. They are all spending precious time when they could be helping others instead of arguing and back stabbing others . Also if you can’t help yourself how can you help others . We need our Queen back to sort these trivial things out . As for Charles he should think of the training he was given and act upon it !
