"They better renew it"- Fans Are Concerned Netflix Could Take Down 'Terminator Zero' Despite Its Recent Milestone

There is nothing more upsetting than investing yourself completely into a show on Netflix, only for the platform to cancel it the next season. No matter how many subscribers shout from the rooftops, Netflix will keep cutting shows that do not measure up to its shareholders' expectations. This has led to a great deal of anxiety among its subscribers, who are uncertain which show might get the axe from the platform next- and the one they are hoping to keep around is the latest release, Terminator Zero.

Terminator Zero has received a glowing reception since its release on August 29. The anime has left almost all the previous Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring movies behind by becoming one of the highest-rated Terminator projects ever. The show, featuring Timothy Olyphant as the titular cyborg assassin, scored 100% on Rotten Tomatoes upon its debut. However, the score has now dropped to 96% within four days of the release. Nonetheless, it still places Terminator Zero as the second-highest-rated project in the franchise.

Terminator Zero has not been given the green light for a second season by Netflix yet. It has not even been a week since the anime hit the streaming platform, and it is obvious that Netflix would like to wait and see how the show performs over several weeks before making any renewal decisions. However, the stage is already set for Season 2 in the show's first season. Yet, with some recent mixed responses from critics, fans fear that Terminator Zero might be the next project to be shown the door by the streaming giant.

Terminator Zero makes fans cheer and fret at the same time

As the streaming wars heat up and the race for marketable content gets fiercer, streaming services are doing everything they can to find their next big hit. Over the years, Netflix has given the axe to many shows before they even had a chance to build momentum through word of mouth. While Netflix’s list of canceled shows is lengthy, some cuts sting more than others. And removing Terminator Zero from the content library would surely be painful it seems. "They better renew it and not cancel it like their other great shows," said a fan.

Many fans applauded the show for its milestone, saying it truly deserves all the praise.

Fans of the Terminator universe have also said that Terminator Zero is the best addition to the franchise in a long time. And although there is no news about a second season, if it continues its string of positive reviews, Netflix might not axe the science-fiction action anime series.
