The Witcher has been on a roll with expanding its Netflix universe. But, after Blood Origin, fans are quite skeptical about the streaming giant’s spin-off experiments. Even so, there is talk of The Rats being in the works, although nothing is official just yet. The upcoming spin-off will zero in on a band of young criminals who crossed paths with Ciri in The Witcher season 3. Though the fandom is not very fond of these Nilfgaardian misfits, Netflix is apparently adding some exciting faces to the cast to pique audience interest.

Recently, a talent from the science fiction drama, Raised by Wolves, signed on for The Rats. This actor is set to take on a supporting role in the spin-off series.

The Witcher spin-off, aka, Riff-Raff, has been buzzing with rumored updates for a while now. As part of its latest report Redanian Intelligence has confirmed that Morgan Santo will portray a supporting character named Dulcie in The Rats spinoff. The actor was last seen in the second season of Aaron Guzikowski’s Raised by Wolves, where she portrayed Vrille, the child fashioned after her late human counterpart. She has also been a part of The Watch, which is another fantasy television program.

With prior experience in the fantasy setting, the actress will likely do justice to her character, Dulcie, despite it being a relatively unpopular character in The Witcher universe. Apart from Santo, all of The Rats cast members from The Witcher Season 3 are expected to reprise their roles in the new spinoff. This will include Christelle Elwin as Mistle, Fabian McCallum as Kayleigh, Juliette Alexandra as Reef, and Aggy K. Adams as Iskra. In addition to the main cast and Santo, the spin-off, will also introduce three newcomers.

Last year was quite eventful for The Witcher franchise. While Henry Cavill passed on his iconic Geralt to Liam Hemsworth, new characters have also joined the universe. Redanian Intelligence revealed in October 2023 that The Ratscast has expanded with the introduction of three fresh faces: Bianca Simone as Sonora, Litha Bam as Miss Skret, and Aubrey Shelton as Barker. It was also hinted that the spin-off could hit screens in 2024, even though Netflix has remained tight-lipped about it.

Redanian Intelligence first revealed the series, The Rats, back in November 2022. What’s on Netflix also lent credence to the information and revealed the internal code name, Riff Raff. Now, the big question is whether the spinoff will explore The Rats’ backstory before encountering Ciri or their time with her leading up to the events of season 4. However, with the series already in the post-production phase, as per reports, fans should not have to wait much longer to discover that.
