'The Witcher' Sorrows Take a Back Seat With a Fabled Return for the OG Geralt in a Latest Clip
It was a sad day for the entire fandom when The Witcher lost Henry Cavill. The human manifestation of The Witcher encyclopedia, Cavill is unequivocally considered the best match for Geralt of Rivia. Many fans, in fact, only tuned in or continued watching season 3 because of him. He was the one who championed a lore-true adaptation, poured his heart into his performance, and seemed to be the navigator trying to steer the show back on course. While the sting of his departure is still fresh, Netflix has recently tossed a small lifeline to The Witcher fans.
Netflix has now confirmed that the original Geralt will be making a return to The Witcher franchise in just a few months.

At Geeked Week 2024, Netflix finally unveiled the much-anticipated animated series The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The announcement came straight from the source, with the original Geralt himself, Doug Cockle, known for his voice-over role in CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher games. “Very soon Geralt’s gonna be back in action,” said the 54-year-old. Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey step back into their beloved roles as Yennefer and Jaskier from the Lauren Hissrich series.
Last year, Netflix teased that this animated fantasy drama would hit screens in late 2024. But plans have shifted since, and the streaming giant has now pegged the release date for February 11, 2025. Meanwhile, the excitement for Hissrich’s The Witcher on Netflix seems to have waned. Recent updates about the filming of the fourth season have not helped fans' dwindling interest in the show either- who appear to be more agitated than eager about the show’s progression.
Although the mood among fans is unmistakably clear, there is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming seasons of The Witcher.
