The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s popular short story A Little Sacrifice. Furthermore, the film will be based on Season 1 episodes 5 and 6. Geralt, the “mutated monster hunter,” will be starting on an entirely new quest in the film. The movie will take place in The Witcher universe in 1244, shortly after Geralt and Yennefer first meet in season 1 episode 5 of the Netflix originals. Further, an official synopsis also provided a full overview of the plotline.

According to the initial summary of the anime film, the protagonist would be seen investigating a series of attacks in a seaside village. Simultaneously, a centuries-old war between humans and merpeople, as detailed in episodes 5 and 6 of season 1, draws him in. However, to unravel these mysteries, he must rely on allies “old and new” before the disagreements between the kingdoms of Atharia and Sheraak erupt into a full-fledged conflict.
