As amazing as it was, the ending of The Witcher season 2 left many fans and viewers confused. From Voleth Meir to the Wild Hunt and the very memorable The White Flame, the season dealt with way too many evils. While this sets the stage perfectly for the further seasons, it has made the ending of season 2 of The Witcher, well, quite complicated. Voleth Meir

Voleth Meir, or The Deathless Mother, was the primary antagonist of season 2 of The Witcher, right until the very end. The aim of putting Voleth Meir in season 2 was to bring Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer together. After seeing enough of their individuality and backstory in season 1, the showrunners decided to bring together the plots of the three main characters using this demon as old as the Conjunction of the Spheres. The Deathless Mother finds her end when the season concludes.

Dijkstra

Unlike Voleth Meir who was destroyed when the season ended, Dijkstra is quite the opposite. Up until the very end, we had only seen him in brief glances. We see during the ending of season 2 of The Witcher that Dijkstra, the head of the Redanian Intelligence, knows all about Ciri and the information is spreading gradually.

Emhyr var Emreis

Right from episode 1 of the first season, we have been hearing the name of The White Flame. What seemed like a religious mascot was actually the king of Nilfgaard. We saw at the end of season 2 that Emhyr is actually Duny, Calanthe’s grandson and Ciri’s father. While everyone presumed Duny to be dead, he was actually busy regaining Nilfgaard and hatching a plot that involves Ciri. While we have only seen him in person in one scene, where he was getting rid of two of his most ardent followers- Cahir and Fringilla, we will certainly see more of the man in the coming seasons of the Netflix Original.

Wild Hunt

Fans of The Witcher book series and people who are new to the fandom are especially confused about the Wild Hunt. In the book saga, Sapkowski has kept the Wild Hunt a very mysterious entity until much later on. Since the Netflix live-action series is based on these books, fans are wondering what led to the decision of introducing these spectral beings as tangible ones, that too, so early on in the series.

The answer comes down to the sheer popularity of the same, especially among video game fans. Since fans already know so much about the Wild Hunt, it only made sense to involve them more in the plot right from the very beginning in order to keep the fans hooked.
