In the third episode of Season 3, the audience witnessed an exchange between Ciri and a mysterious black woman. This character is one of many that come as a deviation from the books. As they speak about their suspicions of whether a covered cage contains a baby basilisk or not, Ciri tells the woman that basilisks “means trouble.” This leads to her giving Ciri the nickname ‘trouble’. But as we find out later, the woman who named her ‘trouble’ turned out to be trouble herself.
This became the first glimpse fans got of Mistle who belongs to the ruthless band of thieves called The Rats. Played by the French-Caribbean actress Christelle Elwin, Mistle, who will go on to become Ciri’s lady love, had stolen her gold and knife in their first meet. And when Ciri requires her knife to kill the beast as it escapes, Mistle does her the mercy of returning it but rides off with the gold.
If you haven’t read the books, then we must tell you, this chance encounter may not be the last we shall see of Mistle in The Witcher. But there is another place we might see Christelle Elwin as Mistle soon.
The Witcher to get a prequel series code-named RiffRaff
Initially, the news of a spin-off series centering around The Rats gang did not get a welcoming response from fans. With Liam Hemsworth replacing Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, dismayed fans did not care for a prequel series. Maybe for this reason, the series which was initially said to have eight episodes could have changed its course much like Blood Origin.

While filming under the codename RiffRaff, the prequel is believed to have been shot in Cape Town. If the books are any indication, gore, and violence will surely feature in this spin-off. Owing to the effects of war, the gang is believed to be hard-hearted criminals without a conscience. And in the middle of it, all will be the same Mistle that made her debut in The Witcher‘s latest season.
