'The Witcher' Divides the World in Two as Liam Hemsworth Debuts His Geralt of Rivia in Style
The Netflix nation is known for its die-hard devotion to its favorite shows, no matter what, The Witcher is no exception. Despite some rocky reviews and a major casting shake-up that took Henry Cavill out and Liam Hemsworth in, the fan base still remains fiercely loyal to Cavill. While some viewers are crying foul over the switch, many others are keeping the faith, eager to see where the new season takes them. While the franchise has been inching closer to landing its fourth installment, Hemsworth's new glimpse has made the tug-of-war between hopeful fans and resenters evident again on social media.
Few days back, the first images of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt surfaced, and with Netflix dropping the latest glimpse of Liam Hemsworth's new Geralt of Rivia, fans wasted no time in casting their opinions of the official first look. The segment, just released, provided “the first look” of the new Geralt in action, again dividing the sentiments of fans into two groups.

What could be made out from the clip was a scene set against a dark blue backdrop with Liam Hemsworth's Geralt of Rivia on the brink of facing an ominous threat. Twisted creatures hiding in the shadows appear to close in on the Witcher with each menacing step. The distance between them dwindles, building tension as the scene teeters with Geralt, keeping an eye on every unfathomable move in his surroundings.
It seemed, nonetheless, as a relief to some fans over Liam Hemsworth's portrayal of Geralt of Rivia, with them hailing his performance as a worthy successor to Henry Cavill's iconic take. Others, however, remain loyal to Cavill's iteration, insisting he would have brought a depth to the scene that Hemsworth can not match.
With the first look officially out, the debate rages on, with fans taking on each other on the social media page.
Fans take polarizing views to Liam Hemsworth's The Witcher look
While the initial reactions to the scene, have labeled it as “STUNNING SPECTACULAR BREATHTAKING,” others, especially the Cavill fan base, are disappointed. “No Henry Cavill, No Party,” said a user while another took pity for The Hunger Games star as they believe replacing Cavill “ruins the immersion” of the entire plot.
Another has taken the opportunity to set the records straight about how there was no need for a different Geralt but a different writer to the story.
