‘The Witcher’ Director Stephen Surjik Hints at Season 4 and Says, “They are mapping it out”
The Witcher is one of Netflix’s most popular series. The show’s first season was so popular that the streaming service instantly ordered multiple spinoffs. Their gamble proved to be successful when the show’s second season turned out to be an even bigger success than the first one. But now it looks like Netflix, instead of playing safe, is planning for future seasons. It seems like The Witcher season 4 is currently in talks.
The Witcher season 4 already has a shape and vision
After a great week of filming in Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy, The Witcher season 3 is currently in full production in England with director Stephen Surjik. Meanwhile, director Gandja Monteiro was researching locations in Wales with cinematographer Dale McCready for her episodes of the Netflix hit starring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Meng’er Zhang.

Director Stephen Surjik discussed season 3 and his experience working with Netflix during an interview with Brigade-Radio-One. During the discussion, he also announced that season 4 has already been planned by The Witcher‘s producers and writers and they “have mapped out season 4” While Netflix is yet to officially renew the show for a fourth season, the showrunners seem confident of its return. “I don’t know if I’m part of that mapping program, but at least they told me that they’re mapping it out,” added, the director.
Although he did not provide any other specifics, the fact that season 4 may be close to being greenlit is wonderful news for The Witcher fans.
Surjik called Henry Cavill classy
Of course, a discussion about The Witcher will never be complete its Geralt aka Henry Cavill; the Brigade-Radio-One interview certainly didn’t disappoint us. During the interview, Surjik acknowledged Cavill’s dedication towards working during the pandemic’s most hazardous phase in 2020 and 2021.
He shared how Cavill is so prepped at the sets that it is just smoother while shooting with him. He praised the Enola Holmes actors by saying how amazing of a person he is in times when everything went haywire. “When we have people fist fighting at award shows, along comes Cavill,” said the director.
