The eerie adventures of the Stranger Things gang will be coming to an end with its fifth and final season. With the show nearing its end, fans have been eagerly anticipating the upcoming release of the series finale. While the Duffer brothers had faced various setbacks with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, they thankfully got to start the New Year with plans to begin filming the last battle.

Although the show went back into production only days ago, the cast of the series recently caused a buzz online by making their way back to Hawkins High School for the last time.

The Stranger Things cast was spotted at Hawkins High School

In a post on X, it was recently revealed that Stranger Things had gotten a filming update. In the pictures that made their way online, fans could not see the stars. However, they could see 80s vehicles parked outside of Hawkins High School. The snaps showed various production trucks that proved the filming had finally picked up. While the crew went back to working on the show on January 8th, the full-blown filming has now finally begun.

With filming in full swing, the cast featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, and the rest of the gang wound up at the iconic school to shoot the last season. There is no doubt that emotions had to have been running high that day, as no one seemed to be ready to say goodbye to the spooky series. Well, everyone except for Brown, who already said her goodbyes last year.

With filming for the final season only just kicking off, fans cannot help but wonder how long it will take until their favorite show makes its way back to Netflix for its curtain call.

When will Season 5 drop?

Since May 2022, fans have been eagerly waiting for the final season of Stranger Things. After all, they had already had to wait for 2 years for the fourth season, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately for fans of the show, 2023 was the year of the Hollywood strikes, which ended up leaving most films and shows delayed. While the halt is now finally over and filming is back in motion, the world could get the finale by 2025.

However, there is no guarantee that it will be released then, as neither the Duffer brothers nor Shawn Levy have made any promises about it yet. While fans might be getting antsy to find out how the series will end, there has been no word about when it could potentially make its way online.
