Not long ago, Netflix also announced the live-action adaptation of the novel Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo. Owing to its popularity, fans are highly excited about the upcoming project.

And there seems to be an exciting update for the fans.

Written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo is an incredibly popular novel. The romance novel was the New York Times Best Seller for nearly 120 weeks. As Netflix prepares to bring this legendary story to life, undoubtedly, they have a huge responsibility of doing justice to it. And it seems like the streamer has picked their frontrunner for the film.

According to reports by Deadline, Leslye Headland will be taking over as the director of the hugely anticipated project. As surprising as it sounds, Netflix chose Headland amongst every “high-profile director in town” who were chasing the project for months. The news was later shared by Twitter page, Film Updates.

The reports further suggest that Liz Tigelaar will pen down the script. Assisting them on the production would be 3Dot Productions executive Liza Chasin and Brad Mendelsohn for Circle of Confusion. Interestingly, the author of the novel Taylor Jenkins Reid will serve as the executive producer alongside Margaret Chernin. As of late, there are no updates on when the production and casting for the project will commence.

As for Headland, landing such a huge project is a massive achievement. The director has had an incredible year so far with her work. Not long ago, her project Star Wars series The Acolyte gathered immense praise and won several accolades at the Star Wars festival.
