We all know that the creators have been working on the recasting for Mera’s character in the sequel of Aquaman, following the legal battle between Amber Heard and her ex-husband Johnny Depp. A few months back, a petition started that asked for her removal from the film and received more than 4.6 million signs on the same. Meanwhile, fans presented a candidate of their own and demanded to see Emilia Clarke in the role.

Viewers are genuinely eager to see her reunite with Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo in the legendary drama Game of Thrones. The internet flooded with rumors and speculation of her taking over the role of Mera. Now it seems that the fans are convinced that only the British actress is the best-suited celebrity for it. A new dazzling image tells that the mother of dragon has finally replaced the former portrayer of the DC film.

Emilia Clarke is trending on the internet as Mera

In a post shared on Instagram, a fan created poster of Emilia Clarke in the iconic costume of Mera from Aquaman. The iconic actor was looking stunning in the image, donning the character’s signature auburn hair. This jaw-dropping poster was created by the famous digital artist Deigo de Sousa, where he replaced Amber Heard.

This picture gave all the fans a glimpse of how this beautiful actress might look in the role of Mera. However, DC has not announced any plans to recast the role even though there is a surge of demands.

The only confirmation we have is that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released on December 25, 2023. The debut movie garnered enormous attention and received praise from critics and viewers. Meanwhile, people are now excited about the return of the sea king after several years.

According to the official synopsis sent out, Aquaman will be taking new responsibilities as the rightful king of Atlantis, while forging new alliances to save his world from an ancient power.
