The Industry Mourns as ‘John Wick’ and ‘Resident Evil’ Star Lance Reddick Passes Away, Calls Him “A Joy to Work With”

While death is inevitable, it often leaves us numb due to its sudden nature. Especially in the case of the pioneers of cinema. The beauty of cinema lies in how the stories and characters connect to us through the screens. Such was the case of Cedric Daniels in the HBO series The Wire. Despite years of being hardened as a member of the Baltimore Police Department, Daniels emerges as a seeker of truth, a shield to his subordinates, a man with just the right soft edges in his hardened moral compass, and most importantly, a hero. Much like the actor, Lance Reddick, who played this exemplary character on The Wire.

Lance Reddick, who brought grace to characters such as Cedric Daniels, Chief Irvin, David Gentry, and numerous other roles in his three-decades-long magical career, passed away at 60. The Angel Has Fallen actor mirrored the title of his 2019 movie as he left the world far too soon. Reddick died due to natural causes on Friday evening at his Los Angeles home.

The actor left a mark as a supporting cast in the John Wick franchise. As Charon in the hit Keanu Reeves’ franchise, he excelled time and again with each addition. The actor won hearts when he protected Wick’s dog in the second installment of John Wick.
