After the departure of the original Avengers, Marvel introduced a wealth of new characters in phase 4. Stars like Angeline Jolie joined the universe, and even Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield made a return. So, it’s not entirely impossible for Marvel to lure Ryan Gosling into the universe, is it?
Moreover, The Notebook star has already confessed his desire to star in a Marvel movie. And before you start speculating, he doesn’t covet his The Gray Man co-star Chris Evans’ Captain America role. That shield belongs to Anthony Mackie now. So, who does Gosling want to play?
Ryan Gosling wants to play Ghost Rider
Despite the rumors of him taking on the role of Nova in The New Warriors, the star has cleared the air that it isn’t happening. But instead, he has confessed in Happy Sad Confused podcast that he is an MCU fan and would like to play the Ghost Rider. Previously, Nicholas Cage embodied the role in 2007’s movie of the same name. It also had a sequel in 2011, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Interestingly, his wife, Eva Mendes also starred in the movie alongside Cage. Both his wife and co-star have had a stint with Marvel, so we think it’s high time that Marvel contacts the actor!

Additionally, the actor was considered for roles in Suicide Squad and Doctor Strange, but that never materialized. A role in the former would have reunited him with his now Barbie co-star, Margot Robbie.

Gosling’s The Gray Man with Russos arrives on July 15
Even though he isn’t donning a latex suit yet, Ryan Gosling has a slew of projects lined up for his fans. Russo brothers are directing his latest film with Netflix, The Gray Man. He plays a Courtland Gentry, codename Sierra Six that’s on the run after uncovering CIA secrets. Joining him in the film is Evans, who plays Lloyd Hansen on a mission to kill Sierra Six.
You can stream it on Netflix from July 22.
