While the Princess of Wales follows the ideal protocols while carefully choosing her outfits, there is something strangely similar about the younger daughter-in-law and Princess Diana.

Meghan Markle channeling a Lady Diana

Brought to our notice by OK! magazine, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle bears some uncanny resemblance to her mother-in-law not only in their shared defiant and bold personalities but also in the way the two dress. To add to it, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry has also named some precious jewels from Lady Diana’s personal jewelry collection as that of his wife. Hence, it would not be incorrect to say that the legacy of the former Princess of Wales is literally carried forward by Meghan Markle.

In the tragic moments following her divorce from then Prince Charles, Princess Diana bought herself a breathtaking 13-carat ring as a replacement for the sparkler Charles had gifted her. The famous freedom ring now shines bright on the fingers of the Duchess of Sussex as she was seen wearing the same stunning piece of jewelry moments after her wedding to Prince Harry. It was one of the very first and major Princess Diana vibes that the former American actress radiated.

A few months prior to their marriage in 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first-ever official Scotland visit as a royal couple. Meghan Markle seemed prim and proper in a plaid forest green and dark blue overcoat on a walkabout on the esplanade of Edinburgh. Meanwhile, the crowd could not help but reminisce about the days of Princess Diana with the exact same shade. The former Princess of Wales once donned a beautiful dress with the same color palette as she visited the exact same place back in 1987.

Both the Royal women are known for their ability to rock the simplest of attires like a Queen. And the Duchess of Sussex and Princess Diana did just that. As the people’s princess once gave major laid-back vibes with a simple plain white shirt on her trip to Bosnia, Meghan Markle perfectly channeled the same as she appeared with Prince Harry for the first time before the public in the stands of the Invictus Games back in 2017.

Princess Di’s one of the boldest outfits was the royal blue peacoat she wore to the Scotland festival in 1988. Decades later, the American star donned a similar but longer trench coat in the same shade as she was seen making her way to a Royal Engagement with her mother, Doria Ragland.

Needless to say, power pants suits were built for these two women in the Royal Family. Although the former style icon was mostly seen in vibrant colors, Meghan Markle kept it all white since she rarely wore color during her time in the UK.
