Season 5 premiers on Netflix in November 2022. Meanwhile, for the sixth season of the series, only a tentative date of August 2023 has been provided with no clarification as to where the production will take place. Peter Morgan further stated that there will be no extension of the current timeline of ‘The Crown’ but would be an in-depth analysis of the current story. “To be clear, series 6 will not bring us any closer to present-day—it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail,” he said, asper Deadline.
Cast change for the upcoming seasons
We will see Imelda Staunton taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from the previous queens Olivia Colman and Claire Foy. “On behalf of the cast and crew, we look forward to bringing you the next season of The Crown in November 2022,” said the new Queen of the show.
