The Connection Between ‘The Witcher’s’ Ciri and ‘Game of Thrones’’ Jon Snow
Anyone who likes The Witcher knows that it has been an emotional year. From losing Henry Cavill as Geralt to Ciri joining the Rats, the third season was a complete rollercoaster. But right since its beginning in 2019, the series has been compared to the major hit Game Of Thrones. From the show’s themes to their characters, the internet noticed similarities between the two.
The end of The Witcher’s third season, however, might have just drawn the biggest parallel to Game of Thrones. With Ciri even using Jon Snow’s line from the series, it was a little hard to miss.

While it was evident that Ciri, who is portrayed by Freya Allan, would be becoming one of the leading characters in the fourth season, director Marc Jobst has not given viewers much to go on. Apart from the major casting change of Henry Cavill, fans also got to watch Ciri forfeit her powers and join The Rats using the iconic phrase, “I don’t want it.”
According to ScreenRant, that is not the only similarity between Ciri and Jon Snow, who was played by Kit Harington. Their histories were filled with tragedy and hard choices after losing their parents while they were young. Even though both characters were meant to follow prophecies, they were never officially chosen as the savior, making it all a game of speculation.
Based on Jon Snow’s character arc back on Game Of Thrones, The Witcher fans may be in for another tough season of watching Ciri make poor decisions because she is tired of the situations surrounding her.

In Game of Thrones, Jon Snow’s rebellion arc was followed by a string of bad decisions, but eventually, he came around and accepted his fate. And from what viewers can see with The Witcher’s Ciri is on the same path as Snow and will probably be following a similar arc, if not the same one. That is not all. Following the themes of Game of Thrones, viewers could see Ciri also becoming somewhat of an antihero, which could also tie back into the prophecy.
Fans still have a wait ahead of them as the fourth season is not expected to air until 2025. Even though there is a lot to be confirmed and revealed about the upcoming season. Hopefully, The Witcher fans will not have to face the same disappointment that people underwent with the Game of Thrones finale.
